Location

Chesa Forma is ideally located in the picturesque Arosa forest in a sunny valley in the heart of Graubünden and is a fabulous destination in both summer and winter seasons.

In the winter season, Arosa offers gentle skiing and a relaxed ambience with easy access to the 225km of piste, expanded due to the fast and efficient link to neighbouring Lenzerheide. There are 42 lifts available to explore the extensive Arosa-Lenzerheide winter sports region. However, Arosa is not just a destination for downhill skiers and snowboarders. Arosa is a cross-country skiing destination featuring 25km classic tracks, 19km skating tracks and a twice weekly 2km night track. Arosa also offers over 60 km of winter hiking trails which lead through snow covered forests or right across the snow sports area to mountain huts. Most of the trails do not require snowshoes but there are also a variety of snowshoe trails and guided snowshoe hikes can be arranged. There are multiple sledge runs, some of which are illuminated at night.

We can recommend where to hire skis, arrange ski lessons and suggest restaurants and other activities. We also provide two sledges.

In the summer season, Arosa is transformed into an impressive mountain panorama with a wide variety of activities for athletes, families and outdoor enthusiasts. Guests will receive the Arosa Card which entitles you to make use of many leisure activities free of charge.

Already known for first-class trails, top quality bike service providers and a focus on mountain biking in nature, the Arosa Lenzerheide and Chur bike region is designated from 2020 as the “Bike Kingdom” with new trails and activities as well as a bespoke mountain bike app for the region.

Arosa is also a fabulous destination for summer hiking. There are numerous treasures to be discovered from a stroll through picturesque forests or hikes to crystal clear mountain lakes, peaks of 2,900 metres and routes to many more natural gems – all of it can be experienced on the marked and well-kept hiking trails in and around Arosa. Hikers often observe squirrels, chamoises, marmots, red deer, ibexes, peregrine falcons, and even golden eagles.

Throughout the area, the crystal-clear mountain lakes and ice-cold mountain streams provide opportunities for swimming. The Untersee Lido has a heated solar paddling pool with a sunbathing lawn, a sandy beach, sun boards, a 50-metre track, a 1 and 3-metre diving board, table tennis, bowling alley, beach volleyball court and a garden restaurant. Boats, pedalo and SUP can be rented at the Obersee Lake. As its name implies, Twin Lakes is ideally situated a short walk from both lakes.

Arosa has plenty to offer families in the summer, including a rope park, Arosa Bear Sanctuary with playground and minigolf, fairy tale train with Jöri, the bear, indoor playground “Bärenhöhle” for rainy days and discovery paths such as the squirrel trail and the bear safari.

Arosa also boasts one of Europe’s highest golf courses. The 18-hole (Par 65) golf course opened in 2001 and also offers a covered driving range and putting and chipping areas. Horse riding, tennis and fishing are also all easily arranged.
